Having self-confidence is not easy. We seem to exist in a society designed to make you feel unconfident in some way, be it bodily, intelligence wise, socially, etc. There is also the fear of failure and being made to look a fool if you try something a little bit different. Sometimes, it may seem as if the eyes of all and sundry are on you, desperate for you to trip up, so they can have a laugh. To be honest, the only person that is interested in you, is you. Most people are focused on their own problems to give you any heed. This is good news. It means there is freedom where you thought there was none, a space to help you build that confidence. 

Remember you are in control of your mind

Negative thoughts beget negative thoughts. The first thing you need to do is monitor what you are thinking about. If your thoughts are spiralling down a bad path, you need to be aware enough to yank yourself out. Argue with yourself, ask yourself, why can’t you? Why are you thinking in a negative way? At the end of the day how you think affects pretty much every aspect of your life, it even has the power to make you ill. So, the first thing you have to do is to take control of what you think. 

Meditate

Take some time out and meditate. Simply stop, sit, relax and clear your mind of all your worries. You will find ten minutes a day or so will have a positive effect and will help you take control of your thoughts. 

Take care of yourself

Look in the mirror and think about what you can do to make yourself feel better. Getting rid of those extra pounds by diet and exercise will definitely help. If you can change your lifestyle to include better food and getting to the gym, you will not only look better, you will feel better too. Exercise gives you a rush of endorphins, a natural high, that stays with you. The more you do, the better you will feel. Also, get to the shops and get a new wardrobe, retail therapy can help in small doses. Think about a haircut and colour. If you can create a new image for yourself, you can become who you want to be. There are many ways to take care of yourself, and they all start inside your head.

Spruce up your home

Don’t underestimate the power of decluttering your home. If you can free up space so your living environment is less oppressive and full of useless items, you will feel lighter. Thinking about a home makeover too, a lick of paint there, a new picture on the wall, Ensure that everything is working correctly, get rid of things that are broken and invest in the future of your home. If there is something wrong with the electrics for example, get a Local Electrician in to fix it. You could be adding light to those dark rooms. A fresh, light home, will do your confidence wonders.
