Hi there! Welcome to the Serenely Sam blog and my very first post!
I’m Sam, and prior to blogging here at Serenely Sam, you could find me blogging as Stressy Mama. I dedicated a year of my life to the Stressy Mama blog but I needed a change! You can read more about me on my About Me page.
I discovered that the name of my blog was similar to another blogger’s name and I was concerned that the similarities would confuse people. Though a rebrand would involve a lot of hard work, I knew it was for the best. Yes, my stats and DA score would be affected, but I’d fallen out of love with the Stressy Mama blog. I’d had a few rough years, 2017 topping them all off, and the Stressy Mama blog felt like a reminder of all the things I wanted to put behind me.
I needed to overhaul my life
I needed to overhaul my life, which went hand in hand with the need to overhaul the blog. And with that, Serenely Sam was born.
I’m hoping to go in a bit of a different direction with the Serenely Sam blog, talking about health and wellness related topics, as well as family lifestyle topics.
I have got Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and would like to share my stories to raise awareness of the conditions. I’d also like to share my infertility and pregnancy loss experiences. Hopefully, I can help others that are going through a similar journey themselves.
Over the years, my troubles with each of these things have left me in quite a low place. I cannot allow that to be the case anymore. It’s like I’ve been walking around with a dark cloud over my head. It was time to get it together and start taking care of myself mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally.
The plan is to start a wellness and self-care journey, and to live more positively and serenely.
I can’t cure the Endometriosis or PCOS, but I can try to do something to ease the effects of each condition. I’ll speak to my gynaecologist about treatment options and research which foods and exercises are best suited to each condition. I need to take responsibility for myself instead of making excuses, and finally attempt to lose weight and get fitter once and for all.
start living life to the fullest, instead of just existing
I am not a doctor or an expert on any of these subjects, by no means. I’m a mum, and a woman, with a passion to start living life to the fullest, instead of just existing.
My self-care has to be my priority, not only for my own benefit but for the sake of my family too. I need to be the best me, so I can be the best mum and partner. I’m going to take a more serene and holistic approach to everyday life. I intend to start meditating, doing yoga and Tai Chi, learning more about crystal healing and anything else holistic I find interest in along the way.
To say I am excited to start this next chapter of my life would be an understatement. I am determined to find a better way to cope with my health symptoms and start living more serenely!
